2010 marks the 350th anniversary of the deaths of St. Vincent de Paul and St. Louise de Marillac.  The year runs from the feast of St Vincent on 27th Sept 2009 to the 27th September 2010. The Vincentian Family worldwide intends to mark the year in three main ways:
1. liturgical celebrations
2. events to foster the formation of its members
3. the setting up of specific projects which will benefit vulnerable people

The VMP will be co-ordinating some events and projects for the Vincentian Family in Britain to commemorate the occasion.

What’s going on that we know about so far?

2. 350 lives – a practical project for helping vulnerable people. Please see here for more details.

3.Vincentian Family Reflection Day: 23^rd January 2010 - a Northern Reflection day led by VMP Spirituality Team will be held in the Gibberd Room at the Metropolitan Cathedral, Liverpool from 10.00am-4pm. Flyer / Booking forms available as from late September 2009.

4. 2010 Pilgrimage: 16-19 April 2010 - this is now fully booked and we have started a waiting list. If you wish to be added to this list, please click here for a booking form.

5. Mass at Liverpool Cathedral:24th of April 2010 the Cathedral has been booked for a 350th Anniversary celebration Mass

6. Vincentian Family Retreat: 21-23 May 2010 – 27 places available at Foxhill Retreat Centre, Frodsham, Cheshire for a weekend retreat led by VMP Spirituality Team. Flyer / Booking forms available as from September 2009.

7. Mass at Westminster Cathedral:25th September 2010 - the SVP are holding their annual rededication Mass in Westminster Cathedral  and have kindly opened this out to all the Family.

8. Vincentian Family Reflection Day: 30th October 2010 -a Southern Reflection day led by VMP Spirituality Team will be held in the Hall/Centre of Holy Apostles Parish, Pimlico, London SW1 from 10.00am-4pm. Flyer / Booking forms available as from late September 2009.

What’s going on in SCOTLAND?

Diocesan Events
The SVP in each diocese in Scotland with claim a month in 2010 to put on a celebration / event to which it will invite other members of the Family. The programme is being drawn up in September 2009 when members reconvene after the summer break.  Details will be posted as they become available.
