Youth SVP England and Wales

Youth SVP is a voluntary Christian organisation for young people. When you join a Youth SVP group, you volunteer to offer one-to-one help and support to people in need in the local community.
Youth SVP is the largest youth organisation in the Catholic Church of England & Wales. Since 1999, nearly 10,000 young people have put their faith in to action by becoming a member of Youth SVP. You can set up a Youth SVP group in a secondary school, 6th form college or parish. The first step is to recruit an adult – say, a teacher, a parent or school chaplain – who would act as your group adviser.

SVP 1833

It  started in 2007 as a voluntary group for young adults (18 – 30+) to come together to help people in need.We are part of the international Christian voluntary organisation called the Saint Vincent de Paul Society (SVP) and we share the same spiritual values and ethos. The name SVP 1833 recalls the year in which the Society was started by a young student who wanted to help the poor. 20 year old Frederic Ozanam was challenged to demonstrate his faith in action. With a group of friends he started a “Conference of charity”. SVP groups today are still known as “Conferences”.  There are Conferences based at universities and in church parishes in towns and cities. Membership is steadily growing throughout England & Wales.Contact
