Poverty and Debt

CURRENT CAMPAIGNS
Dear Prime Minister Campaign
This is a Church Action on Poverty campaign, supported by the VMP. It was launched on 24th May.  The idea is to call on the new coalition Government to honour its commitment to protecting those on low incomes from the effect of public spending cuts. Local churches, projects and those directly affected by poverty are invited to write their own letters to the Prime Minister outlining their key priorities for the new Government.

Living Wage
The living wage campaign is a campaign to ensure that employees are paid not the minimum wage, but a Living Wage which is enough to keep people out of poverty and not reliant on in-work benefits. Clearly in this economic climate it is more important than ever to make sure the poorest are lifted out of poverty.
Our friends at Church Action on Poverty have put together a
briefing for Churches outlining why the living wage should be paid and giving more details about what it is and how it is calculated.
Businesses can also sign-up as a an official Living Wage Employer at
